About

Calvary Community Baptist Church is a fellowship of believers seeking to love and exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and proclaim His message to the world.  We have all wrestled with questions concerning life, death, eternity, sin, salvation, and love. These fundamental questions are addressed in the pages of the Bible. Many of us wish to find God. God the Father is revealed in the His Son Jesus Christ. We all desire community and friendship. There is no deeper level of community than that which can be found in the mutual love of believers in Christ. For these reasons we at Calvary seek to proclaim, teach and study the Word of God together, to establish a close and vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ, to be joined to one another in selfless love and to reach the lost world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

What are your services like?

Our worship service on Sunday is at 9:00 am.  The worship service includes both vibrant praise and reverent worship. At 10:30 am  we have Adult Bible Fellowships which is a great time to get to know each other better and to dig deeper into the Bible. The Word of God is central in our services. We teach straight from the Bible, which is God’s revelation of Himself to man. The Word of God is not boring but is true, living and changes our lives. The most important message that we have to tell is the gospel.  “Gospel” means good news. This news is that while we were still sinners who deserved the judgment of God, Jesus Christ took our judgment upon Himself on the cross and rose from the grave. We can find salvation and new life by turning from our sins and putting our faith in Jesus to save us.

What is your music like?

We love music of all kinds. Music is a gift of God given to praise Him. The Bible gives examples of praising Him with both exuberant rejoicing and quiet reverence. In our services you will find a blend of rich traditional music along with lively contemporary songs.

What should I wear?

We are not concerned about what you wear. We just want you to join us in what you are comfortable in. There are those in our church who dress casually and others formally. You will fit in with however you are comfortable.

What is available for my children and teens?

On Sunday an optional Children’s Church is available during our worship service for children grades first to third. This gives children a chance to learn the truths of God’s Word on their level. Sunday School is available for all ages during the 10:30 hour. On Wednesday evenings during the school year, we have a children’s ministry called AWANA  (6:30 pm),  and Youth Group for those in 7th – 12th grade (6:45 pm). Other children’s and youth activities are planned throughout the year.

How do I learn more about becoming a part of your church?

A great place to learn more about our church is by attending an Intro to Calvary Dinner which is offered periodically in our pastor’s home. We also have a four week membership class which is held periodically as well. Please see church bulletin for scheduled times.

What do you believe?

For the details on what we believe please see our statement of faith.
